LLC Formation Provider Questions: Before You Buy
LLC formation provider questions should reveal what work will be done, what you will receive and what you must still handle. A low headline price is not enough to compare packages when one includes state fees or agent service and another does not.

LLC formation provider questions should reveal what work will be done, what you will receive and what you must still handle. A low headline price is not enough to compare packages when one includes state fees or agent service and another does not.
Ask for written answers before paying. A useful provider should be able to explain the scope without promising guaranteed bank approval, universal tax savings or an identical processing time for every applicant.
LLC formation provider questions: start with the scope
| Question | A useful answer should identify |
|---|---|
| What exact filing will you submit? | State, entity type and domestic or foreign route |
| Are government fees included? | Included amount and any separate charges |
| What happens if the filing is rejected? | Correction responsibility and additional costs |
| Which documents will I receive? | Accepted filings, confirmations and internal templates |
| What is excluded? | Tax, licenses, legal drafting, banking and other separate work |
The SBA launch guidance separates registration, licenses and other startup decisions. A service that files articles does not automatically complete every one of those tasks.
Ask about recurring services
Confirm the registered agent renewal date, price, notice-forwarding process and cancellation procedure. If an address service is offered, ask exactly how the address may be used and whether mail forwarding costs extra.
Use the agent-versus-business-address guide before assuming an included address satisfies a bank's operating-address requirement. Check whether annual compliance means reminders, preparation, submission or payment of state fees.
Clarify EIN assistance and authorization
The IRS issues EINs free of charge. A provider's fee pays for assistance, not a mandatory IRS application charge. Ask which application route will be used and who will be named as responsible party.
An administrative nominee should not replace the real person who meets the IRS criteria. Read the responsible-party guide if a provider proposes using its own employee's details for convenience.
Ask how you will receive the assignment confirmation and the application record. You should understand the identity and filing information submitted for your company.
Test timing claims and banking language
Ask when the provider submits the filing, what the current state estimate covers and what happens if additional information is requested. The formation timeline separates state acceptance, EIN assignment and operational readiness.
A banking introduction or application-assistance service is different from account approval. Request the provider's exact deliverable and the institution's independent requirements. Avoid building your launch plan around an approval guarantee the provider cannot control.
Compare two years of costs
List formation, agent renewal, address service, annual state charges, tax preparation and optional documents. Mark each as included, optional or excluded. Do not count an included government fee twice.
Our service versus DIY comparison helps evaluate the work you can handle yourself. Also ask how you retain documents and transfer services if you leave the provider.
Send a clear request for a quote
Provide your business activity, actual operating locations, owner count and preferred state if already decided. Ask for a written scope, total initial cost, renewal schedule and exclusions.
Contact PrimeRegister with those facts to request an explanation of its available formation assistance. Compare the answer using the same checklist you would use for any provider.
You can apply this same checklist to our LLC formation gig on Fiverr (IncorpoDesk). Ask about government fees, deliverables, renewal costs and work outside the package before ordering; compare the written scope with your actual needs.
